Etched diamond shapes all the way to the speaker edge help to reduce surface waves on the diaphragm, decrease sectional vibration, and suppress distorted sound. This diamond array pattern also increases rigidity and improves voice coil motion response for dynamic and clear sound reproduction.

Urethane is a surround material with very high internal loss, which means bigger bass with less speaker cone distortion.

I do a lot of car stuff and am addicted to Porsches, BMWs and Ferraris. A few years back, when all Porsches started coming "factory fill" with Mobil 1 in the crank case, I knew that this was a great product. I have used it for nearly 20 years and it has paid for itself many times over. I owned my 914 for nearly 18 years, running it on the track several times a year - with only Mobil 1 15/50 as my oil. After 15 years of abuse, we tore the motor down and found it was clean, varnsh-free and the rod bearings were nearly perfect. That says a lot about the product - racing being the ultimate test for a car.



Synthetic oils are the way to go for any motor you care about - the protection is worth the extra money. And, if you change your own oil (and you should), it's only a little more expensive than paying someone else to do it with conventional oil.



If you have an older car, you may find that it may develop leaks because the oil is very slippery and can sneak past the seals (it did on my wife's older Saturn and I had to stop using it). However, she bought a new Saturn (don't ask me why, as a car guy, it's too embarassing) and the 5W-30 stuff works great and doesn't leak.



Buy a good quality filter and install it properly - you will be good to go. In this era of $3.00 / gallon gas, the benefits of a very slippery oil will pay dividends at the pump.

It must be the best oil available at a lower price than that of Amsoil brand etc.

I started using 10W-30 last month. My car is an older one, I hope it does not cause any leaks/burns. So far no problems. It says 'guaranteed for 15K miles' but I think I will change the oil and filter half at that mileage since it is the car's first synthetic after 124K miles.



I agree, most autoparts stores sell these for $ 29.99 for 5 Qts of M1 EP and a fitting Mobil 1 E.P. oil filter.

Amazon needs to ask Exxon Mobil for lower prices. It is not competitive...

I have used Mobil 1 in my 2003 Chev Tahoe since the first oil change and was considering the additional expense for the "extended performance" Mobil 1 oil. I sell industrial machinery and met up with a Mobil Engineer at a paper mill. This engineer swears by the stuff and was emphatic that it will perform to 15,000 miles under highway conditions. I have been using it for the last two oil changes, but I only run it 8-10,000 miles because I change my oil twice a year regardless. The filter needs to be considered as much as the oil and as long as I am going to be under the truck changing the filter, I'm going to dump the oil and grease the chassis. I use $10 Mobil 1 oil filters and the Mobil 1 synthetic grease. I found this oil much less expensive at my local Blain's Farm And Fleet store. They have it for $6.96 per quart.

My 2004 BMW suggested this type of engine oil in the manual.

I bought it from amazon and did oil change in a auto repair shop.

This way save me 50% cost than oil change service in BMW authorized shop.

Smart decision.

But next time I should order earlier because ground shipping takes more than one week.

This is OK oil, but I'm rating it one star because it doesn't live up to Mobil's promises and marketing. I am one of the greatest street racers in California and I take my car to the track a lot. Last year I was running "regular" Mobil 1 that I just changed about 500 miles ago and I ran a 10.7 at the track. Then last week under pretty much the same conditions but with Mobil 1 EP that I changed 7000 miles ago I ran a 10.9. So basically performance does not stay consistent after 7000 miles with this oil. There is a definite loss in power.



Overall I think this is good oil and may last longer than regular Mobil 1, but it does need to be changed more frequently than 7000 miles. I wouldn't dream of running to 15,000 like Mobil says, I would be running 11s if I did. So basically Mobil's marketing department has ruined what otherwise could have been a good product.

I've used Extended Performance for over 2 years in a truck and a car. It works great and we haven't had any oil related issues with either vehicle. It really will run 15,000 miles clean. Make sure to get a good oil filter.
