With the Cobra Jump Starter Powerpack, you'll never be stranded or without emergency power again. The Jump Start Powerpack contains a maintenance free, high efficiency sealed lead acid battery with 1800-Watt of power to jumpstart your vehicle without the safety and mechanical risks inherent with the old style vehicle to vehicle jumper cables. The Reverse Polarity Indicator lets you know when the proper connection to the battery has been made. Then, the jump starter safety switch safely transfers power to the booster cables, which are heavy duty and made to transfer power more efficiently. The Jump Start Powerpack also comes with a convenient 12-Volt DC output and a 5-Volt USB output to power up and charge mobile electronic devices such as iPods, PDAs, and DVD Players when you're at the work site, on the road, or camping. Additionally, it contains a 400-Watt/110-Volt AC Outlet for operating household appliances during storms, or anywhere that traditional electricity isn't available. The Ultra Bright LED Light can be used either at work or in an emergency, and the 260 PSI Air Compressor is a must have for those road side flats, inflating sports equipment, or getting the air mattress set for camping. When the Battery Status LED lights up, simply use the included AD/DC charging jack to bring your unit back to full power and ready for the next incident. This product is a must have for every household and vehicle, because when it comes to your emergency, safety, and power needs, "Nothing comes close to a Cobra".

 "The Mack Daddy" 2010-03-10

By Shubooti

This the Big Mack Daddy for sure! I was weary after looking at many many choices, but finally chose this one because of features and reviews - hoping I wouldn't be disappointed when it arrived. And I wasn't! I didn't have the ON/OFF switch on the jumpstarter on previous units, and really like this feature. You can hook up the cables on your battery, and get a confirmation that the cables are connected correctly (LED lights) without any power on the cables - then switch on the power after you're sure all is connected correctly. And the unit has plenty of power to start any but the largest of engines. The built-in LED light is powerful and lights everything under the hood or around the car. The unit is also perfect for usage in the home during storms/power outages with an inverter to power small AC appliances, as well as a DC outlet, and a USB outlet as well. With an AC power strip and a multi-port DC splitter you can power (or charge) several units at once.

Features:

1. USB power port

2. USB power indicator

3. USB/LED power switch

4. Charging indicator

5. Charging Jack

6. Battery level indicators

7. Battery level test button

8. Battery connection (correct hook-up) indicator light

9. Reverse polarity indicator light

10. 120 volt AC power on/off switch

11. 120 volt socket w/cover

12. LED work light

13. 12 volt DC socket w/cover

14. Jump start power on/off switch

15. Red positive battery clamp

16. Black negative battery clamp

17. Carry handle

18. 15 amp fuse

19. Air compressor gauge

20. Air compressor on/off switch

21. Air compressor hose compartment (with actually lots of space for a change)

22. 260 PSI air compressor

23. Nozzles for air compressor

24. 120 volt AC charging adapter (to recharge the unit)

25. Owner's operating manual

"Works very well jumpstarting a full-size van" 2010-03-09

By blakopal (San Francisco)

This is a really handy unit to have around. Used to jumpstart our large van when the battery gets low, it works great. My only comment is that the cables to the clamps are a bit short, but that's not a huge problem. Haven't had an opportunity to use the air compressor yet, but it's nice to know it's there.

 "Incredible!" 2010-02-13

By Eve (Pasadena, CA)

I need a new auto battery, but for several reasons I'm not ready to buy one just yet. My car needs a jump start almost every day I want to use it, and I can't depend on my husband's car being always available. I decided to invest in a Cobra CJIC 350 Jumpstarter Powerpack because I can use it to start the car, take it with me as backup, and because its many uses made it seem like a valuable item to have in a disaster or other emergency. I did a lot of research, and this product has the power, functions and price that most appealed to me. But there was only one short review that wasn't specific... I took a chance anyway and bought it.

I'm delighted to report that it functions exactly as described by the manufacturer. I've tested all the functions listed in the product description. All performed as advertised.

When it arrived in the box it was almost fully charged already. I plugged it into household electricity and it reached capacity charge in less than 1/2 hour. After I tested it by jumpstarting my car(V6), plugging various appliances into it, using the light, etc., I charged it to capacity again in less than 15 minutes.

In the two weeks since I charged it last, I've inflated all four tires from 25 to 30 psi, and jumpstarted the car 9 times, and it STILL isn't even 1/4 down from a full charge! Do I love this Cobra? Oh yeah.

 "Jumpstart/Compressor" 2009-12-13

By C. Parker (usa)

This is a good system for backup of battery power, or air compressor needs. If you trailer your boat, jump start or air tires when needed and fits in the Center Console and most storage areas.

 "400 PLUS is a PLUS" 2010-03-18

By R. Menapace (Shickshinny, PA)

I received a Powerpack 400 Plus in February and was at once impressed with the battery run times which were in most cases longer than advertised. The Powerpack really came in handy when it was used to provide compressed air ,for testing purposes, to a plumbing system which was being installed in our cabin. The AGM battery is great and I keep it on float charge 24/7. I have not yet used all the features of the Powerpack but feel confident that they will also prove to be useful and work as advertised.

"Works Great, Even Without Car" 2010-03-02

By M. Adams (Southern California)

I've used this for the last 4 seasons to power an Atec Hitting Streak pitching machine. It has enough power to run thru the entire 12-kid team with a good amount of pitches for each to hit. I've also used this to power lap-tops and various other electronics on road trips. I sometimes remember to put it back in the car (at least I do remember to take it on long trips) but have never had to use it for that purpose yet. From what I can tell it still seems to have as much power as when I first bought it. I highly recommend this power pack.

"Love it, does what I wanted" 2010-02-23

By E. Babcock

I've had it for ten days and it has the power. I've used it to power my stereo, and my handheld TV, and charge my cell-phones. I only have solar power and it is on the fritz, and I don't get much in winter anyway. I recharged it after a week though it still had some charge. The indicator of charge stopped working after a week and I'm not sure if it's worth sending back. The manual doesn't make it clear whether you should let it be completely discharged before charging it again.

 "Solidly built, reliable" 2010-02-03

By S. Miller

I already had one of this type of powerpack and loved it so I bought another. These are great for charging up and keeping in the car or keeping in the house in case you lose power. The pump is a little weak for car tires but it's only for emergencies.

 "Extremely Impressed" 2010-01-23

By Rsscully (Hagerstown, MD USA)

I have had this product for at least 4 years. I have used it for many different purposes. Just recently my truck battery went dead and I had to use it several times to start my truck before I could get the battery replaced. As a jumper pack it is awesome. The cables are very good, heavy gauge cable, but another foot longer would be helpful. The air compressor works well too, although it is slow and time consuming. The light is handy but I would like for them to upgrade to brighter LED light. I rarely used the inverter, but it works as advertised.

Unless I use the compressor often I only really charge the unit two to three times per year. I like to fully charge the pack before winter comes, when the temp drops and then after winter as well.

I got one of these for my father about a year before I purchased mine and he used it all the time for work, often running a laptop or DVD player off of the outlets. The battery recently died and will not hold a charge, but it can be replaced fairly easy for around $40(UPG Sealed Lead Acid Battery - 12 Volt, 18 Amps). The unit also has a massive fuse in the back that can be replaced if necessary (haven't had to do it yet).

If I had to spend the money again, I would definitely purchase this same pack. The charge indicator comes in handy. With just the push of a button a digital display tells you the remaining charge level 0-100%. The last time I used this pack before I recently fully charged it, the pack sat in my truck tool box for several months. My truck battery was dead and the pack only read 10%. I didn't think it would turn my truck over, but sure enough it did. This is the kind of security and dependability I would purchase again. For $100 dollars that buys a lot of peace of mind.

 "Fatal Flaw" 2009-02-26

By J. Branco (USA)

Buyers should be aware of the following problem. The recharging system has what tech support described as a "low-charge cutoff", which is designed to keep the battery from falling below a minimum level of charge. The problem occurs when the unit falls below the minimum charge which can happen if you leave it sitting around for a while. When the unit is plugged into an outlet to charge the battery, the "low power cutoff" prevents the battery from being charged, so you find yourself in a catch-22. The battery cannot be charged because the "cutoff" mechanism prevents the battery from being used OR EVEN CHARGED! (A red light accompanied by a clicking sound is heard when this occurs) Tech support's recommendation is to turn the unit upside-down for 24hrs (I kid you not) and try again. If this dosen't work, their recommendation is to throw it away and buy a new one. My recommendation is to avoid buying the charger at all until they reengineer it to not self-destruct. Caveat Emptor.

 "Little Battery that CAN" 2008-10-14

By Robert Mansfield (Davis, CA)

I've owned the PowerPack 200 for two years now. It's a WELL designed, versatile product. Functions are clearly marked and mutually exclusive so LOTS of built-in safety! Switches are precise. I love it.

I own a pontoon boat and have used the PP200 as a power source to inflate large water toys (with their 12V pump). Also have run a laptop computer on board. It's very handy to pump up bicylce tires or small trailer tires.

I carry it to the boat with every outing. I find the built-in molded handle ideal to grip with ROOM for your fingers.

On our last outing we returned near dark and found my daughter's car would NOT start. Parking was precarious with odd positions of the cars. I used the PP200 to start her car. It was EASY to connect and worked well. There would not have been another way to do it. The PP200 was worth EVERY penny that night.

Sooner or later I anticipate "emergency" starting my boat or ANOTHER boat in trouble.

When it worked, it was great.

But it doesn't hold a charge. I have used it maybe twice, and now it doesn't hold a charge (not sitting around for two weeks, doesn't hold a charge for even five hours).

Don't buy this product. Not worth it.

 "It works........" 2009-07-08

By Scuzzyii (Washington DC)

Haven't gotten the opportunity to use any of the power pack features other than the flashligh. Very bright. One caveat is that I ordered the Xpower POWERPACK, but the Amazon's affliated parter sent the DURACEL brand which got low marks from users, but has the same features as the Xpower. I questioned the retailer, and their response was that DURACEL manufactures the powerpack for Xpower. My response - "Hmmmmm..... why not just advertise and sell the Duracel?"

Update: I used this unit on 7/29/09 after a bad tstorm in the DC area, and the extra power outlets came in handy when using my laptop, and charging the cell phone. Used it again on 9/7/09 to assist my elderly neighbor with her Mitusbishi Galant that would not start (Car is less than 1yr. old so I was wondering why it wouldn't start). Connected the DURACEL power pack to the battery terminals and the car started right up. Excellent.

 "A Must Have!" 2009-06-29

By briteideas (Houston, TX)

I've had my Xpower Powerpack 300 EP for over 4 years now and can't imagine my home without it. I've taken it camping, jumped my truck battery with it, inflated a flat tire, and most importantly used it to charge my cell phone, light a table lamp (using a 9 watt spiral fluorescent bulb) & run my portable DVD player after losing power during/following Hurricane Ike last September! Clicks for a little while when recharging from being completely drained but that goes away after the battery starts holding a charge. A real comfort to have!

 "Duracell PowerPack" 2010-03-11

By J. Frank

Ok, except this is my second one. The first broke when the plastic cracked while filling auto tires on a cold day...somewhat substandard and cheap to say the least. But having the broken one to keep as a back up, temporary generator is good enough and the new one to fill tires as needed and as a generator as well, should work

I bought this unit after draining my car's battery for the second time - I didn't want to have to keep calling AAA. It had no problem starting my 2000 Dodge Intrepid, even from a _completely_ dead battery. The flashlight and air compressor are a nice added bonus - I haven't had a chance to use the compressor yet, but the flashlight seems to be decent, although nothing special.

"Great For Piece of Mind" 2010-02-11

By W. A. H. (Pennsylvania)

I bought this unit a year ago and it sat in my trunk.

A week ago, when the cold hit, I was at work, and four of our work vans had dead batteries. Our mechanic wasn't in, so I figured I'd try my "toy" out.

The charger is so easy a five year-old could do it. Hook up the leads, flip the ON switch located on the side with the RED lead, and turn the key. It got all four trucks up and running. Just make sure you give it ten minutes between jumps if you have to crank the engine for 30 seconds (Don't crank it for any more than that, as they say it may cause the unit to overheat).

The singular thing that amazed me was that each van started right up with no cranking. You don't even get that when you jump from another vehicle.

The only problem I found--and it's not that bad--is that the leads for the jumper cables are very short, so you have to sit the unit on the fan housing, or the battery itself.

But that's a small price to pay, in my opinion, for what it does.

It has lighter adapters in it, and home adapters (three prong) so you can plug in cell phone chargers, etc. Hell, it even says it will power a small television for a half hour.

If you have someone you love on the road, be it your spouse, or your kids, if you want to sleep a little better, get them one. Show them how to use it, and put it in their trunk. That way you'll know they'll never be stuck on the side of a dark road, or in an empty parking lot with a dead battery, (A can of Fix-A-Flat and the unit's air compressor will take care of a flat tire) and if it's something more--something major--at least they'll be able to keep their cell phone charged so they can call out for help or stay in contact.

It's like having a Service Station in your trunk.

It also comes with a button you can press that will show you with bars (red, yellow, green) how much of a charge it has. i would suggest checking it once a month, if you haven't used it.

Best money I've ever spent.
